This has gone from my spot to share all my questions, fears and experiences to a necessary outlet for the good, bad and the ugly that goes along with having two boys. I wouldn't change it for the world!

Our Fruity Baby

While reading my friend's pregnancy/family blog tonight I saw that she shared the size of her baby compared to fruit, which is what the books and websites do when you get updates.  Saturday marked the start of 33 weeks for us and that means there are 50 days left from today. Our fruity baby is the size of a pineapple this week and he is over 17" long.

Ahhh....how fast they grow. I can remember when just a few short months ago, our son was only a plum.

Here is my fruity friend, Tina and hubs Henry, when I took her maternity photos two days before Alex was born and a pic of Alex only a few weeks old. I love taking maternity and newborn pics!!!! How cute are they?!

NPSG - New Parent Support Group

Recently a friend of mine found out that's she's pregnant. I am SO excited for her especially because I know she will enjoy this experience. She used to get so excited about my pregnancy and still loves to feel Baby Johnny kick.

She also decided to get a few friends together, some due to expect soon and a few that are recently pregnant. She's calling it the New Parent Support Group. She invited Johnny and I to be one couple of the soon to be expecting parents and I'm excited to be a part of it and to answer any questions the girls ask.

We got together for the first time last week, with spouses included for a fun dinner. We had a great time chatting and laughing and talking about appointments, expectations, etc. It will be fun to get together every month and share while trying not to freak each other out too much. The guys get to hang out, drink beer and tell their own stories.

I'm really looking forward to sharing this experience with her and helping in any way I can. It's also nice to get together and share with people who have gone through or are going through the same experiences as us and to hear about how their experiences are different. This will be fun!  See you all again next month.

I can't post a pic yet, since there's only a few people that know she's pregnant. I will be sure to post it once the news is out.

How Big Will Baby Johnny Get?

While we were in Tahoe, we were discussing how big we think Baby Johnny will get. Be sure to vote in the poll to the right how big you think Baby Johnny will be! We are getting excited to welcome him even if he is a big boy.

I'm especially curious now since my friend recently had a boy who was late and she thought he would be big and was only a little over 6 lbs. while my other friend had her son around her due date and he weighed over 9 lbs!

Our Kid-Less Vacation!

Our weekend visit to Tahoe prepped us for our week long vacation on the West Shore with Johnny's family. His parents rent a place in the summer to spend a relaxing, fun filled week with their kids and daughter in-laws. We were the only "kids" that were able to take an entire week off work and couldn't pass up the opportunity for our last kid-less vacation.
There was hiking, biking, relaxing, eating, shopping, kyaking, sun bathing, eating, S'more making, eating, swimming and laughing. (Although, let's be honest...I didn't participate in any of the "non-approved during pregnancy" activities. Eating and sun bathing were totally on my list of tasks!). Here's a pic that Johnny took during a hike with his dad to Eagle Lake. So beautiful!!

It was a great time and it was nice for Johnny's mom to be able to see how much we've grown and feel Baby Johnny kick. I also think Baby and I grew while we were gone.
One night the Caposseles came up too and we had a fire with JC's delicious S'mores. Joey loved it! It was fun to have them there.

I will always be grateful to the Shebl parents for the time that we had with them, pre-Baby. I couldn't have asked for a better gift with only a few months left!

Baby Johnny's First Tahoe Weekend!

I can't believe that this is our last summer, kid free! I try to remind myself to enjoy the freedoms of sleeping in, sipping my 1/2 caff coffee in silence, watching the Today show while I eat my breakfast, making my bed every morning, enjoying my morning shower and taking time to do my makeup.

Being invited to Tahoe to spend a weekend with the Shebls from So CA, I really tried to soak up this freedom. We enjoyed lounging around and visiting, taking a l-o-n-g walk, eating delicious food and talking with Jake (Baby Johnny's cousin), cracking up at his remarks and energy. He is so much fun!

I really tried to soak up the beautiful weather and enjoy my remaining days of being pregnant. This amazing lake front house that they rent and getting to spend time with the Shebls and Willets makes it hard not to enjoy your weekend.

Here's the boys catching crawdads near the dock. They were having some luck, until Uncle Jim came out with hotdogs and ham. Then it was a free for all! The crawdads were caught dragging their treasures back to hiding. Disclaimer- No crawdads were hurt during the taking of this picture. I love this pic! I like seeing Johnny with Jake and can't wait to see him wading in the water with Baby J.

Our Little Athlete

Our young boy is active! I don't mean that I feel him move occasionally. We were recently given a kick card asking us to count the number of minutes it takes him to move/kick 10 times. I actually stopped counting kicks when I could feel him at least 10 times in about 3-4 minutes! Baby Johnny wants to get outside like his dad, I think.

I wonder if other pregnant women fondle their tummies as much as I do?  My hands are immediately drawn to my swelling tummy everytime I start to feel him move. It's such a unique, amazing feeling that I don't want to miss a second of it!

I was telling someone yesterday that if Baby Johnny thinks for a second that he wants to be on the chess team instead of soccer or football in school, he's got a surprise coming! I know how well this kid can kick and he will be using this skill to his advantage, out there working on his sports scholarship! Nice try Baby. No academic scholarships here. Use that strong arm and stiff kick like I know you can. Make Mama proud.
